    • Laveen Lions and Mervyn's Back to School Shopping Spree

    What:
    Laveen Lions is partnering with Mervyns to help low-income children obtain back to school clothes in their annual Back to School Shopping Spree. Last year's event was a tremendous success with over $10,000 in donations. The much needed funds let hundreds of children do more than look through the candy store window. This year's spree will be held July 28th at 5 Mervyns locations. Please help us provide the esteem these children deserve when heading back to school.

    When:
    July 28th - 6:30 AM - 9:30 AM

    Where:
    1. Deer Valley location - 43rd Ave. & Thunderbird
    2. Arrowhead location - 75th Ave & Bell
    3. Desert Sky location - 75th Ave & Thomas
    4. Scottsdale location - Cactus & Tatum
    5. Central Phoenix - 18th Street & Camelback

    The event is chaired by Lion Ingried Lowman and she will need 250 volunteers to help chaperone the children. Each chaperone will be required to bring a $10 donation to purchase underwear & socks. The time commitment will be 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Lion Ingried will need to confirm the volunteer head counts for each location prior to July 28th. She may be reached via email at Lion Ingried Lowman.
